A painting is an wholly-human experience. I interact with paint, brushes and canvas in an effort to evoke an emotion and awareness from the viewer.
I paint the world around me as I see it. I try to capture my reality, not only the sights, but the sounds, feelings and emotions. Each brush stroke telling its own unique story about the mood at that moment. After viewing my work, I hope the viewer has a better understanding of the moment and becomes more aware of their own reality and senses. Perhaps my work will stir a past memory or mood helping the viewer to appreciate and savor the environment surrounding them.
“Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshiping.”
― Hubert Reeves
